Heger Dry Dock is a marine engineering design firm located in Hopkinton, MA. They had an out-of-date website and there were a lot of projects and resources which needed to be added to the website. The redesigned website required a fresh look and a portfolio design to highlight the dozens of large scale marine engineering projects the firm has designed and certified. We presented 3 design styles to allow Heger to pick and choose. Once we decided the design style, we focused on organizing their portfolio. Each portfolio page has multiple visual elements (photos, videos, and schematics) that help convey the scope and complexity of these large scale engineering projects. Portfolio pages are arranged by category to facilitate the presentation of the large variety of projects. Great attention was paid to organize downloadable resources and links to further resources. The website is also fully optimized for search engines, including an informative caption for each visual element and an accompanying alt tag. The new website showcases the company’s history and past work and offers great resources to professionals in their field.
